About the Central Otago Heritage Memory Bank

The Memory Bank is an initiative undertaken by the Central Otago Heritage Trust, developed in close cooperation with Department of Information Science, University of Otago.

Community groups and individuals with an interest in Central Otago's heritage may use this website to store information, images, stories and recordings, at no cost.

Over time, it is envisaged that the MemoryBank will become a major heritage resource which could provide references for writers seekig authentic backgrounds, historians, librarians and museum curators researching our social history, statutory authorities requiring information for planning and resource management purposes or tourism operators seeking business opportunities which focus on heritage stories.

General enquiries regarding the MemoryBank and its contents should be directed to coheritagetrust@xtra.co.nz. Technical issues, bugs and other problems with the site should be directed to the repository administrator.

The MemoryBank is powered by Kete open source software. Kete was developed by Horowhenua Library Trust and Katipo Communications Ltd. to build a digital library of Horowhenua material: Kete Horowhenua.

Kete.net.nz is the home of the Kete software community; for those that are using Kete, thinking about using it, or just interested in knowing more.
