Lloyd Carpenter felt that he had located the rock shelter where Gilbert Mouat had resided while at Bendigo. There was no number on the letter box but it most likely is the place based on the diary description....

That's interesting Terry. We have been to the Mouat's grave at Purakanui cemetery recently. And the Drivers are very well known - they had a daughter Agnes aged 12 who fell off the top of the cliffs at Long Beach and died some 10 days later. Joan Lawrence of Aurum winery is a Driver from Long Beach and her brother Neil Driver is a well known artist in Alexandra.
